Presentation of the "Iveria" Newspaper Collection at the Kutaisi Public Library On May 1, the Ilia Chavchavadze Kutaisi Public Library hosted the presentation of the 1886–1887 collected editions of the newspaper "Iveria."

These volumes were published as part of the innovative "Giant Books" project. The event featured speeches by Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, General Director of the National Library of Georgia; Nodar Dugladze, author and head of the "Giant Books" project and National Library staff member; and Levan Takhtakishvili, Director of the Library Resources Department at the National Library.

The "Giant Books" project involves the comprehensive restoration and digitalization of historical issues of "Iveria," followed by their printing as annual sets that maintain the original dimensions and format of the newspaper.

The project also plans to produce "giant" replicas of other significant Georgian periodicals from the 19th and early 20th centuries. This initiative serves a dual purpose: ensuring the preservation of original copies held in library archives and increasing public access to these unique historical materials.
